In Chinese culture, Ginseng has long been admired as a health supplement. Clinical trials have studied its benefits, such as combating inflammation and boosting immunity. Some studies suggest that ginseng can support improved cognitive abilities, increase energy levels, reduce pain and even have a positive impact on sexual function*.
If you’ve never used ginseng root before, you may be surprised to learn that it is aromatic and has a zesty flavour. There are many ways to enjoy fresh and dried ginseng. Discover soup, smoothie, desserts and other recipes by searching online.
RECIPE FOR GINSENG TEA
Grate dried ginseng or use a coffee grinder to create coarse flakes. Alternatively, thinly slice fresh ginseng. Place 1 to 2 tablespoons in mug or inside a tea ball. Add water that has been heated to just below a boil, around 209°F. Let the tea steep for 2 to 3 minutes and enjoy.
Please note: Similar to other natural supplements, it is advised that women who are pregnant and nursing should not take ginseng. If you have other health issues (including treatment for diabetes, antidepressants, or are taking blood thinners), you are advised to consult your doctor before use.
